Your Placement can be found here: http://frostburnpgh.com/Placement.html
and you can reference the Map at Coopers Lake here: http://www.cooperslake.com/docs/map.bmp

Also important to note, we strongly suggest you only drive down the hill to the lower campground if you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.  Even then we had a jeep with a trailer get stuck.  Coopers Lake will not be responsible for getting you out and towing from the location in snow will be upwards of $200.  If you need to get things down the hill the best way is to ask for help.

And this was kindly forwarded to this for you all…

The time for the 09 Burn is almost on us, just another few days!  I have but a few words of wisdom for you from a medical and wilderness medic professional.

Please remember that though it may not be summer, the loving rays of the sun still do bear down and can do extensive damage to winter skin. Sunblock spf 30 is not simply recommended but considered required to keep yourself healthy at Frostburn. It will also help protect you from windburn. Your fragile face and hands need shielded, particularly when the sun hits the snow and can magnify it’s bright effects. So slather up, and smile!

Drink! Drink!  Water! Yes, I know not nearly as fun as the Burly Ten Pint Men’s hot cider or spiced wine, but in the winter we can get dehydrated far to quickly and without even realizing it.  Please, keep yourself hydrated and you’ll enjoy Frostburn a lot more!  Signs of dehydration include feeling tired/fatigued, dizziness, dry mouth and nausea.  Keep aware, and remind your friends to drink some water too!

Warmth. Duh? No really?  Please, don’t walk around without your shoes on, or your shirt.  You may laugh, but a lot of people become so enamored with the spirit of having fun and being free that they forget some necessities!  You’re thinking to yourself, come on, it’s so cold you’d notice if you didn’t have shoes on!  THe warning signs of hypothermia include, joint stiffness, fatigue, stumbling, slurred speech and stopping shivering.  Sometimes people imbibe in things that make them a little less Mindful of their surroundings or personal well being, they are most likely a candidate for a Darwin award and hypothermia, please tell a friend, and stay warm!  Wearing layers is the best way to stay warm, no cotton near the skin, and wear a hat, you loose most of your body heat through your head.

Fire..fire burns.. fire hot.. Cave man talk aside, I know it’s cold. It’s REALLY cold. Leave the fire, in the fire pit. Don’t wander around with it, don’t stick your hand in it, and please don’t try to dry your socks by sticking your feet in it.  Do not, under any circumstance put an open flame in your tent.  No candles, no oil lamps or torches.  I’ve seen people shrink wrapped in their own tents because of this.  If you’re cold, find a friend, snuggle!!

Above all else, have fun, and with a little common sense we’ll be injury free!
